Images for the Future

The Sound and Vision Wiki discloses knowledge about the collection from the archives of Sound and Vision. It focuses on movies, radio programs and television productions digitised as part of the Images for the future project.

On the wiki one can find biographies of people from the media, including film makers, actors, television presenters and designers. A large number of works are described, and wherever possible, the authors is mentioned. Productions are divided into genres and decades. A minimum of 4,150 photographs from the archives of Sound and Vision have been described already on the wiki.

The wiki was started in 2008 and uses the MediaWiki software. The texts and images are published under a Creative Commons license (Attribution-ShareAlike) and available to everyone. The editing and creating of new pages is open to anyone with a login. Sound and Vision is the main editor.

At the end of 2010, the Sound and Vision Wiki has over 15,000 content pages and almost 10,000 images from the archive added. The pages have been visited about 6 million times and there are 1,900 registered users.
